hello and thanks in advance for reading this. I have a laptop wirelessly networked to my desk top which is acting as the server. From the laptop I can click on network places and see all the desktop's network places, and transfer files TO the desktop just fine, but I can't do the reverse. The laptop is running XP home SP1. The desktop is running Windows 2000 Professional SP4. When I click network places on the desktop and then click on either the "computers near me (shows none)" or on the workgroup I get the error msg: "{workgroup} is not accessible. The server is not configured for transactions". I can't even see the desktop's own network places unless I first "search" for the desktop's computer name - which locations I can then access. I can search and find my laptop, but can't find any network places on it even though it has several. My TCP/IP connection is configured identically on both machines. Here's what I get when I check the IPCONFIG:::

Any clue how to begin troubleshoot this? It's worked before but something has become corrupted/changed. Thanks, Jerry Brown
