I first start my Windows XP, and then turn on my HP monitor.
The monitor light is green, but soon turns orange to signal a standby mode.
The computer itself appears to be running constantly because the orange light is being constantly lit.
But the computer runs very quietly, but does not seem to be doing anything.
Any suggestions at all would be appreciated.
Open the case and feel the hdd to see if it is spinning and if the cpu fan is on and check to see if the pwr splly fan is on. check any diagnostic leds that might be on the board, then reference the board manufacture to see what they mean.
