This varies with your needs. If you need Ethernet then you shop for that or consider some adapter.
No one can write you need x and y ports or subspace connectivity.

A way to power it, a way to charge a wireless mouse, and a way to connect to an external display. That's my vote.

Generally speaking, you'll want at least a few USB-A ports, USB-C (ideally with charging), HDMI for screens, and a headphone jack, though this actually depends on what you use the laptop for. An SD card slot is quite useful if you operate with cameras. Additionally beneficial for wireless connectivity are Bluetooth 5+ and Wi-Fi 6.
