I'm currently evaluating whether to use a ready-made software solution for my upcoming project or develop everything from scratch.

Ready-made software (like clone scripts or pre-built platforms) offers faster deployment and lower initial cost, but custom-built software provides more flexibility and scalability in the long run.

For those who’ve faced this decision — what’s your experience?

Did using ready-made software save time and money?

Or did it limit your ability to scale or customize later?

What factors should I consider before deciding?

It's YOUR PROJECT. i.e. not for a business that would get the CEO and board to weigh in.

Custom built does NOT mean flexibility or much else. The problems I've seen with full custom is that the developer and God knew how it works. Now only God knows.

So it's back to YOUR PROJECT. Do as you wish. Just like Dani.

If the software solution you're talking about is a core part of your business, then spend the time and money to write custom software that produces a valuable, unique offering. If it is not a core part of your business, then use ready-made software that gets the job done, and spend your time, money, and effort focusing on what is your core competency. Never outsource your business's core competency, and never waste your resources on something that your customers or clients will ultimately not care about.

I agree with you. I plan to use a ready-made solution, but I am not sure which company to pick. I've shortlisted <Promotional scripts>. Can you or anyone here tell me which one is the most reliable?, Thanks
