I never ran in to this kind of problem in my life so far. Recently I bought a Lenovo 3000 Y410 laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed. I tried to dual boot Ubuntu 7.04 with it. This actually replaced my boot loader with GRUB. I formatted the Ubuntu without being aware that GRUB would start again during reboot. The next time I restarted the computer, GRUB blind Windows Vista and I couldnt log on.
So, I formatted the Computer using Windows Vista recovery DVD.
Then I installed all the drivers for Vista. Onething I cant find is the Infrared driver. I tried a full hardware search and Vista doesnt locate it. I tried to get Chat help from Lenovo and they didnt answer me. I dont know what kind of Infrared device the laptop is equipped with.
Is there anyway, I can find the infrared device even though it is not listed under device manager? I dont want to buy any softwares please. Free and safe ones would do.
I want it to work. If you know the infrared device name for Lenovo 3000 Y410 laptop, please let me know.

This has happened to me once, after installing a software i download from soft32 (i guess) an application for windows interface improval. But everything happened i installed that application. I tried running windows in safe mode and everything looked to same. Windows Kept on restarting.

The reason i have for this is, windows system files are corrupt.

The only solution i came up with in the end is to reinstall windows.

You can try creating a partition to save some of your documents. If your computer comes with a recovery console, then use tat feature.

Just check windows Firewall or any other firewall to see that you have access to Internet Explorer. If Internet Explorer is denied then select Allow.

Is IE the only affected one?.

Try to scan your computer for malcious software, Viruses or Spywares with a security.

I understand your problem.

I will give you the simplest steps possible to solve this problem.

1. Go to Start
   
2. Select Control Panel
3. Date, time, language, and regional options in normal view or if you are in classic view, then go to Regional and Language Options
4. Select Regional and Langauge Options
5. Select Regional Options Tab
6. Select English (United Kingdom) as your option instead of United states
7. Select Advanced Tab
8. Select English United Kingdom from the drop down menu
9. Click on Apply
10. Now windows Will prompt you whether u want to copy the setup filed from the Windows CD -ROM or use the existing files. Select Yes as your option
11. Windows Will now prompt you to restart your computer. Select Yes.

Hope this works.

I have Uninstalled mostly everything from MC cafee but the uninstallation for the most part was a failure.. I didnt take much time to fix it anyway and installed the Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite which on the internet looks like the best among others.

Hello everyone,

Recently i ran in to problem with my computer. It's new to me and i dont know what's going on in my computer.

Problem: My Default browser is Firefox running on Windows XP Pro, but the problem is that whenever i open Firefox 2 for the first time, i get a ad.firstadsolution/... window Launched in IE7 popup window.

This also pops up when i boot up my computer and randomly while connected to the Internet.

Do you have any solution?

Please i need help in this!!!!!
