How do I post a question for problems I am having with my computer?

If you mean, physically post, then just follow what you did by posting here heh :D

Just make sure you post in the correct forum, but if you posted in wrong forum, a moderator will just move it :)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Wrong forum, I'll move to the right one.

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Wow, I'd never imagine something like that to happen before :p

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

VB.NET I like for doing quick jobs, though. I'd much rather prefer C++ over C# :D

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

You can't quite compare C# with VB.net, they're different.

ASP.NET uses ASP.NET doesn't it?

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Yeah I'd think it's better to go with another host besides your ISP anyways, they usually don't offer much.

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

You should also contact them about this, they can probably give you a quick and accurate response.

I'm told that "you can have anything you want in Alice's resturaunt."

(gawd I need coffee!!!)

Err...

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

You call those old Macs? I remember my mac, was a 1988 model or something? (I wasn't much of a computer fan back then, if you know what I mean :p) I only used it for playing chess against an AI :D I can't quite remember the exact model (I'd have to find it in my junk pile first), but I'm sure it was older than anything you have here :D

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Awesome style, definitely :D

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

 (my favourite emoticon)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Congrats on your success :p

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Then why does vBulletin 3 gamma - with the new XHTML compliant styles - use <b> ?

Quick answer: <b> is XHTML compliant too (even when using strict XHTML compliant code)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Windows 2000/XP for me since I'm using WinXP right now :p

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Authserv is okay, not that bad :)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Same server as the vBulletin.org channel, for those vBulletin fanatics such as me :) :p

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Yep, but remember that it must be a PHP file then if you want to use PHP (unless you use frames again, which I highly dislike personally :p)

Tekmaven commented: Frames suck - you have it 100% right. +36
Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

I don't think you can have CGI in an HTML file?

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Might happen someday, but I will always be loyal to PHP and MySQL :D

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

I think the moderators should be able to make the final decision on which is the longest, and most interesting thread ;)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

I really like #2 :p

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Of course lots of non-open source stuff is great, such as Windows, etc. But, things like Linux, PHP, Apache, MySQL, Mozilla/Firebird, etc. are awesome too.

For me, for instance, I like PHP more than ASP, for one reason, because it's opensource :)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Yeah, let's see who is our most interesting conversation starter now ;)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Yep, true, true :)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Happy Thanksgiving to all Americans (ours was over a month ago :p)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

eavesdropping twenty-five --> spies

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

You can basically just use any webhost that doesn't block hotlinking images, which there are a lot of ;)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Maybe use PHP instead for this instead :)

You can learn about the setcookie() function in PHP by going here: http://ca.php.net/manual/en/function.setcookie.php

So, when a user first visits your site, have an option somewhere where they can select which style/CSS they want (using a dropdown maybe) and then when they submit that, then it will drop the cookie on their computer. So the next time they visit, the website checks their cookie to see what style they prefer to use :)

Let me know if you need some more info! :)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

I don't think Gamma will have a huge layout change, only minor ones :)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Nose..? Where'd that come from? :)

Anyways, I'll use that then.

Nosey --> smelly

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Thanks :)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

New moderator over here as well :)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

I never abuse my powers ;) :D

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

I'm new here, but everything looks great for a first impression ;)

Hope the current layout stays for a while :D

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Yeah I've played Homeworld 2 for some time now :)

Your ships look cool, I didn't know you could do that :D

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

PC Club = http://www.pcclub.com/ ? :)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Thanks :)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Or people could also use my hack for vBulletin, which replaces censored text with an image instead - it helps visually :D

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Yeah, it's a good idea, but I think that just replacing the entire word with one character is neater so you can see the length of the character (and guess what it is if you really need to know what it was :p).

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

Yep, you can use mod_rewrite on shared servers, because of their per-directory capabilities :)

Gary King 37 PHP/vBulletin Guru Team Colleague

PHP 5.0.0 Beta 2 released ;)

And yes, the new/improved features of PHP 5 is definitely mouthwatering :D
