Have you checked your drive to see if you have any massive file folders on there....I wonder if your reg fixer has created some sort of file that is duplicating in a folder somewhere.......or maybe a virus doing it? I don't know but it would be worth the quick look....

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

I am not aware of a quicker way......but I will have my ears perked if/when somebody has some info about it! Good luck!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

Thinka,

R U playing outside of the rules.........lol

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

hmmmm, well if it works it works, right!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

Lardmeister.....

I quite like your signature as a quote!!!!! Otherwise I will have to go with Will Ferrel in his comedy, Anchorman;

"I wanna say something. I'm gonna put it out there; if you like it, you can take it, if you don't, send it right back. I want to be on you."

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

why would you say that is is less effecient? Most of these hydrogen systems use solar-panels, and wind machines to create the electricity needed for the production of hydrogen....there are so many ways that this is a good thing......you should research it!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

I am indifferent to it. I never use the word "pop", but when my friends use it, I sometimes make fun of them....not a big deal though, we mainly just use the word drink though.

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

it is also created with electricity and water, which is quite eco-friendly (depending on how the electricity is generated)!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

How about North East Kansas!! LOL

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

Not sure by what you mean by quickest......but I add users through active direcory!!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

what shows up when you do an ipconfig?

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

I will only bump this topic one last time....then I will let it go! I am just anxious to know if there is anyone else working with this!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

So you are having way more issues than just not being able to visit a few websites......hmmm this is gonna take a lot of work.....How receptive are you to the idea of reformatting? If you have a backup, you might consider it....it might take less time that way to fix all of your issues...

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

Do a system restore ass well.Ill have a look at your HJT log and drop a post tomorow
[about to leave work]

we'll get it fixed though-no worries

Well, lets not throw name calling into it.. I know restoring sometimes is boring but lets leave the asses out of it.....LOL

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

also, you might try a disk cleanup. Can you see anywhere on your HD where the space is being taken (programs or other files?), and have you ran a virus check recently?

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

so does it take long for any other website to load?

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

oh, no, there are lots of good free ones out there....i think the most popular is AVG, but there is one I like. Its from trend micro, and it is called house call. I use this one along with norton 360. It works great for me. Another one I like is windows defender. Good luck to you!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

You are very proactive! Most newbies know nothing about their systems, and it is almost like pulling teeth to communicate with some of them! You are absolutely a breath of fresh air :)

Ok, i thought I was going to be offline a bit longer, but now I am back at my desk. So I am going to look at your hijack this log, and see what we see......

also, exactly what happens when you try to connect to these sites? Do you get an error message?

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

To answer your question, Yes. Formatting your drives will bring you computer back to a normal state. But here is my question for you...do you plan on formatting everytime you get a nasty? I would check into a different AV, or at least download a free one from the net and use both of them to scan! Good luck to you!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

There is no obstinance here! I answered Dave's question!

As for an answer to your question......

"What kind of drink do you want me to get you?"

Or "Can I buy you a drink?"

Damn question answered Mr. Jephthah

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

so you can comminicate with google, that is good news.....I'll check back with ya when i log back on!!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

I am currently at work, and I do not have the time to go over your log at the moment, but I will be logging back on in about an hour or so.....I will check it out then and let you know what I find. Good luck to you!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

You have lots of posts, and I do not want to offend you, but sometimes hitting the basics are a good idea to start with.....so....have you checked your cables to make sure they are ok? Have you tried to switch which ports they are plugged into to see if any other computer disconnects in that port? Try some control testing and let me know what happens!

maui_mallard commented: Basics can sometimes work the best! +5
itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

try this for me real quick,

go to- run
type- cmd
then type -ping www.google.com

does it lose any packets? tell me what happens...

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

Is there a reason that you want to uninstall both? Just format the "D" drive. You should not have to format both hard drives (although sometimes formatting is the answer). Do you have an anti-virus program installed? If you do, you should run it. If it is a decent one, it should catch your little nasties, and rid you of your problem. But only run it after you format your other drive. Let us know what you have, and what trouble you are having and we (someone here at DANIWEB) will get you all fixed up!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

do not be distressed little damsel ;)

we are here to help, and help we will!

If you are on a network, you are more than likely connecting to a proxy filter that might be restricting your access.

If you are on a home connection (DSL, cable, dial-up), it could be some settings in your browser.

So, let us know how you connect, and what browser you are using (IE 6, IE 7, Firefox), and we will get you fixed up!!

Can you also include what anti-virus you are running?

Dave Sinkula,

Ok, if I were going to tell guests what we have to drink, it would go something like this:

"We have a variety of beverages, would you like to have juice, water, milk, mountain dew, dr. pepper, or diet sprite"

Now, most people will ask me, "does'nt it take longer to say them all out rather than to just generalize and use the term soda?" Well, my answer to that one is that if I would have just said "soda", they would have asked what kind. So I just cut to the chase since I would eventually have to tell them everything I have anyway!!

I am 28, and we (friends, family) simply use the brand name. For the most part, the generic terms associated with the description of a softdrink have never been used by us. Now that I think about it, not too many other people take that approach....I do not know how or why that trend started, it just did!

Does your computer "grind" the whole time you have it on? Do you happen to know what type of harddrive you have?

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

Major Winters,

I have a few buddies who run a business in Kansas. They host GC's (gaming clans) sometimes for free depending on what kickback you might be able to offer. I can forward them your address, if you can let me know beforehand what you can offer. Even if you have a tie in to some decent advertising, you might have a shot. Otherwise you will have to pay them. So I will run middle-man for ya! Let me know...

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

If you add some details about what kind of network you are looking to have, you might get some better results. Some things you might post are:

What size of network are you planning on having?

Other than backups and filesharing, what else will you use the network for?

Do you have a budget in mind for the system?

Will you be utilizing switches and routers for connectivity?

A server purchase can be a mild task, or it can be very overwhelming...depeding on what you are doing. Have a great day!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

I work for a small school and our network is has about 225 cpu's (all running xppro). I am running windows 2003 server for our main server (named Vision), and I am running window 03/64 for our backup and fileshare server (named Eagle). Our network is set up with a v-lan, and we have cisco products for routers and switches. We had a power outage over the weekend and now I am having some issues with the backup server (so it appears).

With Eagle, If I try and ping an outside address such as yahoo, google, etc., it will not do it, but I can visit those sites through explorer. I can also ping several workstations, with the exception of about six computers. Those computers are in a lab, that are connected with 2 cisco switches, that are functioning normally. I have about 14 computers in this lab, and 8 of them connect to Eagle fine. They can file share, get program access and ping eagle. The other four cannot ping eagle, and cannot file share. They can ping vision, and also outside websites, as well as other computers on the network. Just not eagle.

Anyone out there seen the issue in the past? I would really love some suggestions! I am sure I left out some details that you pro's probably need, so just let me know what additional info you need! Thanks in advance!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

By the way, the following is a great link for anyone interesting in checking it out. It has information on hydrogen safety, and a variety of links for lots of information!

http://www.hydrogenandfuelcellsafety.info/

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

Here is the current situation in the US. Southern California, Orlando (and somewhere in Missouri) launched small Hydrogen grids to go along with the February release of Honda's fuel cell vehicle. GM will also be releasing their version quite soon (if it has'nt already) which will boost Hydrogen production. Not including the price of land and a bulding, a person can buy all of the equipment needed to create, store and pump hydrogen fuel for approximately $130,000 (USD). Now the kicker to this is that there are also home models for sale that will allow a user to create their own fuel (of coarse not as effeciently as a larger unit), and those are running approximately $15,000.

Someone had asked about safety. From all of the research that I have seen so far, these systems are quite stable. The products they use for the dispensing of hydrogen are far more superior to the way that your ol' 87 octane is pumped. So, I am going to be that there would not be any Hydrogen grids up at all if it was not safe.

While I do not think that Hydrogen will replace our oil, diesel and petro immediately, I do think that there will be a very good market for it. And perhaps somewhere down the line their could be an economy change pointing to Hydorgen's favor. But that is simply my opinion, and I am loving hearing what everyone else has to say.

So, back to …

Experience is always a good thing....even if you don't find what your looking for! Have a great day!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

Anyone here looking into starting a Hydrogen Fuel station with the recent releases of GM and Honda's Fuel Cell vehicles? I have checked into it myself, and you can get a station going for relatively small amount. The next question I have for you is this: If you have looked into building one, do you think that personal (home models) hydrogen fuel systems will crush having an actual grid? Throw me some of you thoughts or ideas!!

itdupuis 19 Posting Whiz

Good work! Some progress is better than no progress....lets resume this tomorrow!!
