I have an Invision Power Board Lifetime License, as well as Copyright Removal. However I would like to sell them both. Does anyone know of a good place to advertise this sale? How can I go about selling these?

Thanks.

This is not my website. It's run and organised by some pretty famous people in the industry.

2-5 Do I need to provide an link back or acknowledgement to Built2Go.com when I use your products?

Users of these materials must retain the copyright notification and link to http://www.built2go.com that included with each and every programmed template.

There you go.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realise this topic had two pages.

It's quite possible they are not using your email address, rather some how masking it to appear that they are.

@peter_budo. Director is due for a huge makeover. Just for some reason Adobe are taking their sweet time.

@Vic842. If you already know Photoshop, then have a look at splitting the images. Then use (X)HTML and CSS to put it all together into a website.

A good XHTML/CSS reference; www.htmldog.com

What's all this about?

The HTTP-equivalent meta tag does the job of setting a page's content type, but if at all possible it is preferable to use a genuine HTTP header. With the meta tag, the browser must recieve the HTML file and then decipher the content type, but by establishing the content type on the server side before the HTML file is sent, the browser will be told what to expect before hand.

One way of sending the content type is by using a server-side scripting language such as PHP:

<? header("Content-Type: text/html; charset= UFT-8); ?>

If you don't want to (or can't) use server-side scripting languages, you might be able to go straight to the server with an ".htaccess" file. Most servers (Apache compatible) can have a small test file with the file name ".htaccess" that sits in the root directory and with the following line in it, you can associate all files with the extension ".html" with a MIME type and charector set:

AddType text/html;charset=UTF-8 html

Can some please explain how the above is used. I'm trying to learn (X)HTML/CSS, using HTMLdog by Patrick Griffiths. However I'm not understanding this part at all.

Thank you.

Hmm... that doesn't look like it's been thought out, rather it looks very much like an accident. Do you know if this was made using Photoshop? Photoshop is more for image manipulation, this sort of stuff would be easier done using PaintShop Pro.

Always use separate layers for each segment of the "design." For effects have a look at the layer options menu on each layer, and Filters.

but heres a link to the site; http://www.prodigyguy.com/

Interesting. Don't know what to say about that. Doesn't really work for me.

Thanks.

actually, someone did try and do a cut + paste job on this site.

That makes me cringe. I question the ethics behind such practices. There’s simply no fun if you don't get your hands dirty. Also, imitations can never compare to the original. That’s just wrong on so many levels.

However I would be interested to so how it turned out though. Just out of curiosity.

Thanks.

ill refer dani to this post for you

Thanks.

I can install modifications pretty easily, unless the mod just doesn't want to work. Then I would just be stuck.

Custom skin = Anywhere from $50 to $50,000, depending upon which design firm you go with and the quality of the work

Wow, the upper threshold is very high. I wonder if any forum would be worth such an investment.

What if I do all the graphics and layout stuff myself? All the web designer/web developer would have to do is put it together (code it).

Thank you for your response, I really do appreciate it.

Kind regards

Hello,

Out of sheer interest, how much would it cost to have a professional make a website like this? Well not exactly a carbon copy of this, since this is obviously quite a big website, and I'm sure there's a lot more that's going on behind the scene so to say. But To a standard such as this. The level of customisation is very impressive. I wasn’t even able to tell it was based off VB until I saw the copyright at the bottom. VB’s default skin is absolutely awful.

Very briefly, off the top of my head, based on the following; forum, blog, reviews, classifications etc. etc. Something like gumtree with a little more order.

I apologise if this is in the wrong forum.

Thank you.

Kind regards

First check if any site as blocked under Block Sites. If you can't see your websites listed, then you can add your ip address as a trust ip address, under the Block Sites menu.

Clicking Attached Devices will give you a list of IP address attached to your router. Might be worth noting them.

If that doesn't work then click on Firewall Rules, and 'Add' a new rule for both 'Outbound Services' and 'Inbound Services'. Ensure to sellect 'Any(All)' under 'Services'.

Make sure the hosting company has a proper control panel (cpanel). I'm with DreamHost and it's user control panel is ugly, slow and unnecessarily confusing. I would say the same with Godaddy. I have my domain names hosted with 1and1 and I don’t have much love for them either. Their control panel lets you do a very limited number of things. In most cases you'll have to call up their call centre or email them. The strange thing is they ask for your password for verification. I kid you not. Genuinely they ask for your password.

Money transfer companies like Western Union are just too expensive to be a viable option. It would be cheaper to bank transfer via International Bank Code/Number. For example The Co-operativebank only charge £8 for sending money to the USA (from the UK) no matter how large (or small) the amount, whereas companies like western union will charge an arm and a leg.

You'll most probably have to download them one by one, or link to them on your website.

I suggest you look for a file repository software of some sort. In the past I've used Owl and 2kBox, the later is visually pleasing and much simpler, but the former has more functionality. However both are not ideal for public websites. They are better for sharing files between a small group of people.

Checkout Open Source CMS for some ideas.

I thought I'll add my 2 cents in as well.

You should look at colours that are generally associated with your field. For example people normally associate the colour red with words like important, danger, stop. Whereas the colour green is usually associated with the environment, go, safety etc. As an extreme example today homosexual community, they have adopted the rainbow colours.

Society around us have certain established norms, practises etc. It is very hard to go against these established norms. Some times going against them can make people uncomfortable. It confuses them. You'll have to be a very good designer to be able to ignore these.

The colours I personally would associate with motor vehicles are:

  • Orange; RAC, combs used to block roads.
  • Yellow; AA, florescent jackets.
  • Red; Road signs, although only a little.
  • Silver; Metallic body parts.

Personally I would advise having at least 3 colours, two complimentary colours and one that just stands out and shouts at you. e.g. blue and silver and then either a little maroon/brown/purple/yellow/orange.

For something simple and very Web 2.0ish, you could also go for www.getvanilla.com

Very impressive! In fact I am tempted to switch from phpbb. However it does seem more suited for websites that are a lot more than just a forum.

The stuff that came with the camera.

What camera you got there?

I was thinking of using moving graphics, since I don't have the equipment for film.

Hello,

What software(s) are people using to make videos? I am interested in making my own short documentaries, programs etc. with the intention of hosting a reduced quality format on my website. However I would like to also have a decent quality fit for broadcasting or DVD’s as well.

Way back in 2001 I used to use Adobe Premier, can’t remember which version, but I think they were on version 5 or 6 at that time.

Thank you.

I'm Saeed from London. I can't remember how I found this place, but after browsing around for a few days I thought I might as well just register. It certainly seems like a nice enough place. I hope to learn much, and share the little I already know.

I have an interest in Construction, which I am studying, after going back into education as a mature student. I know some (X)HTML, however only very basic formatting.

Well, I think that about sums me up.

Thank you for having me.
