When I click on my affiliate link, there is about a 5 or 6 second delay before the site pulls up. The link is picture link. What can I do to help cut this time down while continuing to use the picture link? Is there any software available or tips that can be used?

The link being a picture link, do you mean that it's linking to a photo or that you click the photo and it's linked up to another page? If the photo is incredibly large or high-resolution, it will take much longer than if you just resize it to make it smaller. If it's a photo you're clicking to get to another link then it's not the photo, it's whatever is on that next page seems to be either far too complicated, loaded down, or just large. Does that come somewhat close to what you were looking for? Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
