I have Questions about social bookmarking sites

Hello,

I have been submitting to high page rank social bookmarking sites, including Facebook, Digg, Twitter, and low traffic social bookmarking sites too.

It takes time to manually submit to all of these social bookmarking sites every time I create a new article on my sites.

My traffic is ok but not much from these low page rank social bookmarking sites.

My question is:

Should I keep submitting my new pages to all of these social bookmarking sites or just Facebook, Digg, Twitter?

Thanks.

Short version: keep the practice, but stop doing everything by hand and stop doing everything everywhere. As asked, social bookmarks and shares do help discovery and drive referral visits — which in turn can lead to editorial backlinks — but they are distribution signals, not a direct Google ranking signal. That distinction matters when you decide where to spend your time. As noted, bookmarking helps get pages found quickly; Google will index public, crawlable social pages, but it does not treat likes/shares themselves as ranking points. (ahrefs.com)

Automation is worth using for efficiency, but be selective. ’ automation idea is fine for scheduling and pinging core networks, yet bulk-submitting your URLs across hundreds of low-quality bookmarking sites risks creating noisy link patterns that Google’s link-spam systems may devalue. Use a scheduler/RSS-to-social tool to post once, then manually engage in the community (comments, replies) to create real traction. Always tag campaigns with UTM parameters so you can see which platforms actually send visits or backlinks. (developers.google.com)

A simple, repeatable routine that balances effort and impact:

  1. Pick 3–5 priority channels that match your audience (one broad social, one niche community, one visual/pinning or industry aggregator).
  2. Prepare a headline + two short promo variants and schedule the initial share + one timed follow-up.
  3. Spend 10–20 minutes engaging after the post goes live to help it gain momentum.
  4. Check referrals and incoming links after 7–14 days; keep what produces traffic or editorial links and drop low-performers. This keeps submission time low and focuses work where it creates real value. (ahrefs.com)

Combine this with the outreach tactics mentioned (guest posts, targeted outreach) and the patience and recommended. In practice, quality and niche fit beat mass submission: fewer, better-placed shares that bring real readers and links are far more valuable than dozens of low-traffic bookmarks.

Keep on using the social bookmarking method for your site pages. As it is the best way to get the indexing fast.
And also use the other social network to get in touch with the people and to attract them more to your site. Use the blog ,article and videos on your social media profile as it will be helpful more. But be the instant responder to people with providing the more new and useful content.

I suggest you to keep submitting your new pages to these bookmarking sites but why are you doing it manually?
You can use any automated tool to ping these social bookmarking sites

Don’t just stick to social bookmarking as it alone cannot help you in pulling traffic or backlinks. Besides bookmarking, go for Blogging, Blog commenting, guest blogging, Forum posting, social networking etc..which will help you build a good social media reputation which is prime ranking factor for Google.
Guest blogging works best for me...I use a tool called ‘Keyword Country’ to find popular, niche-related blogs to guest post on...

Social Bookmarking is a part of basic SEO strategy. It's really important base on my own experience, you need patience for that. You can't beg viewers to visit your site. What I trying to see is don't stop on it. Try and try to have a better chance of success.

bookmarking is the fast approval procedure allowing to get more back-links and building links ,it is free of spamming also ,i agree with the bookmarking benefits to a great extent
