Im thinking of setting up a phone line to provide internet marketing advice. Before doing that, I am wondering if anyone on this board have used Skype Prime or Ether and what do you think? Did it helped you build credibility on your field or even made some revenue?
Please let me know. Thanks!

asked about turning live calls into revenue and members including , , and mentioned a couple of service options. Below is a compact, practical checklist and a short pilot plan that fills gaps not covered in the replies: how to choose a platform, protect the business, and run a low-risk test.

  • Business model and fees — verify platform take rate, payment processors used, payout timing, chargeback policy, and who handles refunds.
  • Onboarding friction — determine whether callers must install software or can use a phone; lower friction increases bookings.
  • Scheduling and billing — use an integrated scheduler or calendar links, clear session lengths, and automated invoicing or receipts.
  • Legal and tax — register the activity correctly, collect VAT/sales tax if required, and keep records for reporting.
  • Privacy and recording — get explicit consent before recording; store transcripts securely and define retention.
  • Technical reliability — require wired connections and a quality headset; provide a fallback (local phone number or SIP) and test codecs.
  • Customer protection — publish a concise cancellation/no-show policy and a refund/appeal process.

Operational tips: price by session or by minute, but always publish an exact billing unit and a sample cancellation fee. Use a short consent script at session start that states the price, billing unit, and recording status. Run a pilot of 10–20 paid sessions to collect conversion rate, average session length, no-shows, and net revenue after fees. Keep concise notes or searchable transcripts for follow-up and to build repeat business.

Cautions: check the chosen platform's merchant and dispute policies before migrating clients off that platform; confirm compliance for international callers (data protection rules vary); and avoid exposing a personal phone number by using a business number or masked forwarding.

Skype Prime's voice quality is okay according to me
so i could say u couls try that

Well I am hearing about it for the first time...now that you have mentioned it I am thinking of using it.

I generally use skype for conference call.

I have to check if I can use Skype to create a paid phone line. My friend is still exploring this option.

Ether doesn't require both users to use Skype, and they take a much smaller cut of your fees.

You can get paid for all those support calls you receive after finishing a job. Just think of the possibilities.
