I haven't logged into my AdWords campaign in awhile and now there's a new interface and I can't figure out where anything is?!!

Not to mention ... I forget how I set up Target ROAS bidding a bunch of months ago and now I can't figure out where to change its settings.

Gahhhhh, I'm so frustrated!

noted the AdWords UI change and that the Target ROAS setting seemed to vanish; was partly right about per-keyword control for manual bidding, but Smart Bidding (Target ROAS / tROAS) is normally set and managed at the campaign or shared/portfolio level rather than as a per-keyword toggle. ’s links point toward Google Help; below is a short, practical roadmap and troubleshooting checklist to find and edit those settings. ()

Change a campaign-level strategy: open Campaigns, click the campaign name, go to Settings -> Bidding -> Change bid strategy and choose the Smart Bidding option (for example, Maximize conversion value and — if needed — enter a Target ROAS). To create or edit a portfolio (shared) strategy, open the Tools icon -> Budgets and bidding -> Bid strategies, create or edit the strategy there, then apply it to campaigns. See Google’s bidding documentation and the Maximize conversion value page for the exact UI paths. · . ()

Important naming note: Google reorganized Smart Bidding in July 2022 — Target ROAS for Search was folded into “Maximize conversion value” with an optional Target ROAS field. Newer accounts show the Maximize label; older campaigns may still show the legacy name. Add the “Bid strategy type” or “Target ROAS” columns to your Campaigns table to confirm which campaigns have a ROAS target set. . ()

Troubleshooting tips: value-based bidding requires conversion tracking with transaction-specific values and minimum conversion volume (requirements differ by campaign type — Demand Gen often needs ~50 conversions in 35 days; other campaign types commonly require lower thresholds). After switching strategies expect a learning period (it can take up to ~50 conversions or a few conversion cycles) and short-term swings in volume or spend; avoid flipping strategies during learning. Use the Bid strategies report and the Bid strategy type column to diagnose portfolio vs standard usage. · · . ()

Follow up ... where can I change my bid strategies in this new UI?!

You can change your bid strategies at the keyword level I believe.
