Asking more than once?

I've been sharing short videos with quick tips and asking questions in the captions. Posting at times when my followers are most active also seems to boost comments and shares.

Try MicroJobs on SproutGigs to get more eyes on your content or boost engagement! It's a solid way to get some extra help. Plus, create content that gets people talking, like polls or quizzes.

By staying consistent and posting content people actually relate to, it’s all about value + authenticity.

Getting engagement on social media comes down to consistency, creativity, and audience connection. Brands and creators focus on short-form videos (Reels, TikTok, Shorts), interactive posts (polls, quizzes, Q&As), and storytelling content that sparks emotions. Using trending hashtags, memes, and relatable content boosts visibility. Engagement also grows through community building—replying to comments, resharing user-generated content, and collaborating with influencers. Posting at peak times and analyzing insights ensures content resonates with followers effectively.

Honestly, getting engagement on social media takes a bit of testing and a lot of understanding your audience. The first and most important step for me was figuring out what my followers actually care about - their pain points, what frustrates them, and what kind of content genuinely helps them. That took some time and deeper research. When your posts solve real problems or start real conversations, people respond. Also, sharing behind-the-scenes content usually works well.

Something else that’s worked surprisingly well for me is using social media QR codes. I’ve added them to print materials and packaging, linking to a landing page with all my social profiles. (I'm using Uniqode; I'm not sure if you can create a single code for all your profiles with other generators, just to avoid confusion.) It’s made it easier for customers to follow or tag my business wherever they’re active. I’ve also used QR codes in small loyalty and rewards programs - people scan to earn points or unlock discounts when they engage online.

Oh, and I’ve seen better results from using hashtags that are niche-relevant than just popular ones. Keeps the reach more targeted. And interactive stuff like polls and “what do you think?” questions can make a big difference.

One last thing, regardless of the strategy you follow, you generally need to be consistent and responsive.

If you want to boost your social media engagement, focus on sharing eye-catching and valuable content. Try using videos, attractive images, and fun interactive posts like polls or quizzes to grab people’s attention and get them involved.

Facebook pages are hard to grow, unless you personal brand your profile and then invite your followers to like your page. Apart from this, businesses with good local reputation, big brands, memes, jokes, pages supporting causes, speaking about causes, usually gets good engagement. First learn your audience and then find which platform will help you attract those audience. Rather than putting lot of effort, just plan ahead

Either SproutGigs or Fiverr. I think we can help you more if you give more insight into who your demographic is. Different platforms work differently for different audiences.

Things to keep in mind

Post strong images/video content: Posts with strong images or videos tend to perform much better. In fact, one article mentioned that Facebook videos garner much larger amounts of interaction than static posts.

Ask questions and to engage: Ask your audience for their opinion, run polls, or other, "fill-in-the-blank," type prompts to encourage a comment.

Be consistent with posting: Consistency can simply help keep you visible. Try and be strategic about when you post, scheduling during times your target audience is most likely to be online will help.

Use Stories and Live videos: These formats tend to reach followers a little bit more directly, and viewers feel more personal seeing this format. This foster's connection and helps to build engagement.

Interact with your audience/pages: Responding to comments/messages, tagging relevant pages, and participating in posts related to your brand will help attract attention to adjacent audiences.

Use User-Generated Content (UGC): If you can get your followers or customers to post their own content, when they tag you and you re-post, you can leverage that for social proof and engagement.

A couple additional tips to help move the needle early on

Ask friends, colleagues or customers to follow the page and engage with your initial posts (this helps to signal to Facebook's algorithm that your take is active).

Consider a small giveaway or contest to motivate people to comment or tag a friend (as long as you follow Facebook's contest rules).

Try to Create Engaging Videos Nowdays

I’ve had better luck by posting less but making each post hit a specific interest. Stalking my audience’s patterns helped a ton. Tools like https://socialprofiler.com/ make it easier to figure out what people actually care about, so you’re not throwing spaghetti at the wall. Pair that with replying fast, asking small questions in captions, and mixing short videos with simple image posts, and things usually pick up.
