After creating a Msdos startup disk, I still have challenges accessing and formatting drive C.
The file system in C: is NTFS.
Can someone please give me a nice step by step black scree syntax?

XP does not use DOS
You must use the XP CD to do that, or get the new xp disks from microsoft (theres about 9 of them)

Ye you can use XP cd to do that in a easy way.
In addition you can look for HirenBootCd, basically a bootable cd with a bunch of usefull tools. There you can find HD tools as well and format from there
