due to a windows problem i need to back up my master hard drive before i reinstall . I can connect it to another pc as a second HD fine, i can access my user folder in documents and settings using the network sharing option but i cant access the my documents folder. 'access denied' i've got stuff on this HD that i really want to keep, what can i do to retrieve them? PC world [uk] wants £70 to reinstall windows xp and £100 to back up my HD what are my options ?

either.....
1. you need to right click properties on your slave and go to the sharing tab and click on the'allow this drive to be shared on a network'
or
2.you have 'pass-worded' your account on the original drive, therefore windows wont allow access. Reinstall original drive as master, remove password and you done;)
