My Fujitsu laptop will begin to boot Windows XP and after the progress bar goes across the screen 8 to 10 times the computer will lose power and stop. It will also shut down at about the same time if I boot to safe mode or go to bios.

The computer will not turn on if the power source is not plugged into the wall. If I have the battery in, and unplug the wall power supply during boot up the computer immediately dies.

Any ideas?

Your battery/charger may need to be replaced.

I just bought a new charger and the I don't think its the battery because I can try to boot it practically indefinitely and it always dies at approximately the same amount of time after I turn the machine on.

I also checked the fans and the connection to the CPU and they seem to be good so I don't think its an overheating problem.
