wow, I just heard about dual processors, what is it used for? Is it only when you have upgraded your ram to the max and still arent getting the performance out of your computer you want? It sounds kinda nifty, but expensive

Dual processors have been around for years. They are usually not selected for "speed" but for "processing power". Their additional power can be crucial in applications like video editing or CAD. The real advantage of dual processors comes when you multitask.

Your best bet to make your machine faster is to maximize your RAM. Put in all it will take and you'll get the most bang for your buck in regards to speed.

Some processors support hyperthreading, which basically makes your system think that you have dual processors when really you only have 1.

For general office usage and gaming, dual processors are useless (especially since only a few games actually support them, and they're probably all Quake 3 based).
