Toshiba Satellite a75s206 has an aversion to battery power. The "shop" advised a new mobo. Toshiba sent a new battery (recall). Installed new batt, let it power up all day and guess what? This laptop runs off wall power only and will not do batt. Advise me.

How old is this laptop?
When you put the battery in and plug it in does a light come on and show the battery is charging?
Does it fail to turn on when unplugged from the mains? - does a light flash or anything when trying to turn it on?
