For — a few focused checks that separate software causes from hardware ones before spending money or opening the case. , and touched on likely directions; the steps below extend those ideas with quick, non‑invasive tests and simple fixes.

First, do the screenshot test. When the screen is visibly flickering, press Print Screen (or take a screen capture) and paste the image into Paint or another viewer. If the saved image also shows the flicker, the problem is happening in the graphics pipeline (driver/software). If the screenshot is steady while your eyes see flicker, the light/connection side is more likely. Next, boot to the firmware menu or a Live USB (BIOS/UEFI screen appears before Windows). If flicker is present before the OS loads, that strongly points to hardware; if it only appears after Windows starts, focus on drivers and settings.

On the software side: boot into Safe Mode (basic driver set). If flicker stops there, uninstall then reinstall the display driver (use the vendor driver, or roll back if a recent update coincided with the problem). In browsers or specific apps try disabling hardware acceleration to see if that removes the flicker. For stubborn driver problems, a clean driver removal and reinstall usually helps.

Collect evidence before any physical work. Record a short phone video showing the pattern, whether it changes with lid angle, and whether it follows heavy CPU/GPU use. Monitor temperatures while the flicker happens. If the preboot tests show the same flicker or screenshots remain clean while the screen visibly flickers, document the behavior and seek professional repair—do not attempt high-voltage or panel disassembly unless experienced. Start with the screenshot + preboot + driver checks; they will normally reveal whether the fault is software (fixable at home) or hardware (repair or replacement).

Have you tried and external monitor?

Does it happen when you are moving the screen are whilst it is up not moving? -Maybe it is a loose connection or maybe the screen is going, how old is this?

I am having the same problem with my screen ,I have read somewhere that it is becasue of excessive charge that the system is flickering and that bu umplugging it and rebooting it would get fixed but to no avail,i personally think replacing the fl inverter would make sense

the problem for that are it could be the built in videocard or the video inverter....you must goto a Laptop Technician or to the manufacturer of the laPTOP they can help you more for that problem...
