sound like overheating problem... try to put some heatsink on the processor.. or may be dust on it that cause your laptop shutdown automatically

first 1 TB HDD is a huge size, why you can try to make your 1 TB hdd into slave and pick only HDD which is very small size like 160GB as your primary HDD so that when you go to clean install, it takes only 30 to 40 minutes …

it means that your mother board, has to compatibility of ram required, either one of them ddr2 or ddr3,, agree of RIK,, you cannot put the 2 rams ddr2 and ddr3 together...select only one.

try to reset your bios by removing the cmos battery on the motherboard for a couple of seconds try to on power up you pc without the battery install... then power off the machine then install back the cmos battery.

i think you have hardware problem... my first guest is harddisk drive.. please listen to your harddisk drive if you hear clicking sound... it might be a bad HDD...
