Greetings,
I have a problem finding an appropriate LCD for my Sony VAIO FX140. While doing some research, mainly on eBay, I found LCD SCREEN FOR SONY VAIO PCG-GR250P, PCG-883L, HP OmniBook 4150 Laptop 14.1" LCD Screen and 14.1" LCD Laptop Screen LG model LP141X1. Now, can anyone tell me, which of thoese models would fit my VAIO ocg fx140 model????
I would be very apreciated if someone would give me hinest response.

Thanks,

Peter

Short answer: the PCG-FX140 shipped with a 14.1" XGA (1024x768) TFT panel, so replacements should be 14.1" XGA panels that use the same connector and backlight type. is correct that many FX-era 14.1 panels are cross-compatible in practice, but do not assume every “14.1 inch” listing will work — the resolution, connector pinout/position, and backlight (CCFL vs LED) must match. (scribd.com)

The difference matters: LP141X1-style parts are 14.1" XGA (1024x768) and are often direct swaps for older Sony 14.1 XGA machines, while LP141WX1 (note the WX) is a 14.1" WXGA 1280x800 widescreen panel and is not a drop-in replacement for an XGA laptop without rework or different electronics. In short, match XGA-to-XGA; don’t install a WXGA panel just because the diagonal matches. (laptopscreen.com)

How to confirm before you buy: carefully remove the display bezel and read the sticker on the back of the glass — the sticker gives the manufacturer and exact part number (that is the number to match). Count the display cable pins and note the connector location (left/right/bottom); many 14.1 panels use 30-pin LVDS but there are variations. Also confirm whether the panel uses a CCFL lamp (requires the inverter) or LED backlight. Only buy a panel that matches the original part number or matches size + resolution + pin count + backlight type. (opldisplaytec.com)

When shopping on eBay: ask the seller for a clear photo of the back-label and the cable end, confirm “tested working,” and make sure returns are allowed. If a listing only says “14.1 inch” and gives no part number or connector photo, skip it — cheaper panels often cause more trouble than they’re worth. Matching the LP141X1 (or the exact Sony/BOE part number you read off your original panel) is the safest route. (laptopscreen.com)

Theres a ton of models that will cross with yours.. Stay away from the GRX 15 " screen.. Will work but the screw mounting holes are a different configuration.. Any FX series screen will fit your laptop. If you cant find one let me Know I most likely have one here. Is yours Broken physically? We can fix these if they arent cracked or smashed.
