Looks almost like your ribbon is partially pulled from the LCD. (best case scenario) Worst? Video deciphering circuits ka-put.. Does this change with movement of the lid? Or a light tap? Edit: Please do not use forum posts to advertise your business - Catweazle

Hard drives can cause intermittent fails as well as Any electronic component. They have a circuit board responsible for operation. Ive froze them before and pulled data prior to them totally failing. Just a note..

Shutdowns on 700 series presarios are a common problem. Thermal transfer pad would be the first place to l;ook.. Check to see if its shorting atop the CPU. Then well work on getting it booted w/recovery

I purchase quite a bit of goods through MCM electronix.. They are a good company and have been around a Long time. It is getting harder and harder to find Flybacks. Manufacturers seem to keep dropping production for some reason or other?

Try unplugging your hard drive and see if navigation without freezing is capable in BIOS. I've also seen hard drives cause this on notebooks and believe it could happen on a desktop as well. (Cursor blinking may mean its having problems trying to load the OS and is hanging)

Remember when the bombardment of 200 Watt car stereo speakers hit the US market? They were trash.. They rate these according to their own standards, Meaning just because it says 400 Watts.. if its 20.00 its most likely in all actuality 200 Watts max.. Take their advice, Spend the extra …

Try the inverter before screen replacement. If the backlight tube is bad We can replace these alot cheaper than buying a new screen.

Shouldnt hurt it a bit.. I have 5-7 laptops going here at any given time after repairs to test drive them,(somtimes for 3 days straight) The backlight is a CCFL.. (small flourescent bulb w/ a ballast).. They do heat up a little but not enough to do a nuclear meltdown..
