I recently bought a dynex keyboard (nothing fancy, just needed a keyboard) and
my computer now will not boot past the COMPAQ logo at the beginning. If i unplug the keyboard and reboot, it boots properly, and i can then plug my keyboard in and it works fine. It is connected to a usb port, and i cannot use an adapter because the normal keyboard port is broken (which is why i bought a new keyboard) any ideas anyone? i am running Windows XP home edition

Uninstall the Compaq keyboard software.

how do i go about doing that?

Add/Remove Programs (In Control Panel)

Find the entry for the keyboard software, select it and choose remove.

thanks that fixed it!

Ok hold up - it apparently worked for a short while after, but now the problem has returned.
