my pc will turn on and start up but there's no icon and the start button wont repond. please help

So, the computer is able to boot to Windows, just not working properly? Have you tried to boot Windows into Safe Mode?

Anything change lately that you think may be causing this problem? Did you load any software recently? Have you checked your antivirus software, updated Windows recently?
