My laptop screen will not display an image. I have tried plugging in an external lcd and hitting Fn F8 and get no display either. The laptop is old but it did work a few days ago. I dont think the LCD is cracked or broken. Could it be the onboard video display gone bad? Would I need to replace the motherboard? A friend of mine that borrowed it last said the curser started to act weird and then all of sudden no image on the screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

To resolve my issue I'm guessing I need to replace the motherboard, an XGA LCD ribbon flex cable, and an inverter. Is this right?
