Hi,

I have a Hostgator VPS and when I try to log into cPanel, I get an "Internal Server Error 500".

The problem is likely due to a recent server migration.

I get this error with cpanel.domain.com and domain.com:2083

I get this error on all the accounts on the VPS.

I get this error on all devices (phone, PC, etc.).

I get this error with all browsers (Firefox, chrome, etc.).

I get this error from different IP locations.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Jim

A 500 internal server error means there’s something wrong either with the server configuration or some type of fatal error in executing the code for the web app to where it’s unable to continue and simply fails. This would never happen because of the web browser you’re using or something based on the device or location you’re trying to connect from.

That being said, is this just a cPanel error or can you not run anything on thr web server? Eg can you execute a php file just fine?

What changed that triggered it? What type of server migration did you do? I would have to agree that this is related to a MIS configuration with cPanel (that needs to be adjusted for the new web server). Can HostGator tech support help you out?
