i have a client that has outlook 2007 on xp pro. recently, he has had a problem where is he has received email that contain URL links within it, he cannot use them. when he clicks on the link, he gets an error message "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer, please contact your system administrator." is this a security setting somewhere, or something deeper? thanks in advance.

It may be that outlook thinks the url to be unsafe.

If the Junk E-mail Filter does not consider a message to be spam but does consider it to be phishing, the message is left in the Inbox, but any links in the message are disabled and you cannot use the Reply and Reply All functionality.

Do the following if you do not want outlook to disable links in potentional phising messages.

On the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Preferences tab, under E-mail, click Junk E-mail.
Clear the Disable links and other functionality in phishing messages (recommended) check box.
Note If you decide to select this check box later, Outlook will disable all the links in messages that were evaluated as suspicious by the Junk E-mail Filter, and you will receive warnings about suspicious links.
