A few practical paths and what to do next (short, concrete help for ).

As and already hinted, the Windows installer/uninstaller tools are limited — if the automatic rollback/uninstall data is missing, the installer cannot "undo" XP. The two reliable ways forward are a repair install (to try to fix the current XP without wiping your programs and data) or a clean install (format the partition and install fresh). Which to choose depends on whether the goal is to recover a broken system or to remove XP entirely.

Before doing anything, back up everything you care about: user folders (My Documents, Desktop), browser bookmarks, email stores (Outlook .pst), product/activation keys, driver installers (especially network), and any license files. If you cannot boot Windows, remove the drive and attach it to another PC or boot a Linux/WinPE live disc to copy files off the disk.

Repair install (when you want to keep programs/data)

  • Boot from a Windows XP installation CD and follow the Setup prompts.
  • When Setup finds the existing installation it offers a Repair option; choose that to replace system files but keep applications and user data.

Clean install (when you want a fresh system or to install a different OS)

  • Boot from installation or recovery media (OEM recovery CD if your PC came with one).
  • Use the installer to delete/format the XP partition and then install the new OS.
  • After reinstall, reinstall drivers (start with network) and restore your backups.

If you do not have an XP CD, check for an OEM recovery partition or contact the PC maker for recovery media. Always confirm you have the XP product key or OEM COA sticker before reinstalling. If the goal is simply to remove XP and put another OS on the machine, booting from the new OS install media and formatting the partition is the normal, supported method.

You cant uninstall any version of windows from within itself, you need to format the Harddrive to get rid of Windows .
Why are you trying to uninstall XP ,is it to reinstall it or to reinstall another Version of windows .

hmmmm.... unless u really want to "f" up your computer........ go ahead and uninstall files from system32 hahaha!

Dude, you need to do it the hard way........reformat. sorry! It is painful, but its the only way that really works............(well, safely that is).
