check if your pc is connected to domain or if it is set to work on a workgroup

befor try to ping the other pc's and then go to control panel, view network connections, view workgroups properties on the icon showing the pc connections. we start from here we will see whats next

To check if the computer is in a Domain:
Click Start, right-click on My Computer. Click the "Computer Name" tab. That should tell you whether the computer is part of a domain or not.
