So my computer crashes during boot up and displays a BSOD screen saying DRIVER_NOT_EQUAL_TO..... something like that

and the error says:

0x100000d1 (0x10f0e534, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x863738e7)

PLEASE HELP!
-also system restore to a month ago didnt do anything

I recommend that as a first step, you clean your registry with one of the available tools.

If you can't boot into Safe Mode to do this, try booting from the Windows CD/DVD in Repair mode.

I already booted into safe mode and used CCleaner but it did not fix it

Good that you can boot into Safe Mode.

What has changed between when it worked and when it went BSOD? New drivers? New applications? Esp. new game or vide driver?

What I'm looking at is any hint of the cause of a kernel memory clash. What could you uninstall to bring it back to an earlier state?
