How do I solve the problem when typing and my text skips letters and/or types double letters. Is this a problem with my keyboard, my mouse or what?

9 times out of 10, it is the software and driver stack provided by the hardware vendor. Often just using the plug-and-play ability of Windows and letting it use the default/native driver sets is the best way to go (in the case of mouse/keyboard I mean). Some 3rd parties try to get to clever and it causes more headaches than it is worth.

Have had this issue twice over, both with my diNovo Media Desktop Laser, and my Cherry keyboard/mouse, and in both cases reverting to the Windows' drivers solved the prob.

I've seen similar issues on systems with an ATI video card. Try to disable all ATI startup items and services using msconfig and see if that helps.
