Cannot delete any message:
"The messaging interface has returned an unknown error"
Cannot send or receive mail
"Unknown error"
I have rebooted computer and resarted Outlook: no help. I backed up my messages in a PST file. Shall I uninstall Outlook?

I ran detect and repair a few rimes, closed Outlook and rebooted a few times. Finally the problem disappeared as suddenly as it had appeared. I did back up my info in a PST file.
