Hi I have a new computer, and I have put Windows 7 rc on it, but I want to get rid of any unneccesary start up programs. Here is a start up log from my HJK . Can you help with advising what and how to remove stuff.

your choice ,only program that needs to be running at startup is a antivirus program,my opinion

I second that, the only things I have start with any computer would any wireless, keyboard/mouse management software, Anti-virus/security apps and maybe an email program or ATI catalyst or something; but that's it!!
If you want a program to run, you find it and open it. And disabling updater programs isn't all that bad; most apps update when you open them anyways!

Run msconfig then go to startup tab and uncheck it and then apply and restart. I wouldnt recommend shutting down .exes you dont know of though, google them to make sure they arn't a nessary processes.
