Hi all

My friend has an ASUS laptop and he has a virus which crashes his PC indiscriminately. He has installed AVG and found a rootkit under this file name.
C:\WINDOWS\systetm32\drivers\GETPADD.sys

AVG cannot rid the file it still appears after startup.
I have tried following the suggestions from this thread using Hijack This and even used CCleaner to rid the registry but to no avail.

If anyone can aid us in this it would be greatly appreciated!

I am running Win7 and he is running XP. I can advise him via skype with any suggestions but I am out of ideas except wiping the HDD.

Kind Regards

Goose

Hi All

My friend took his laptop into the Uni ICT dept and with another program found other malware. These have been dealt with so hopefully this issue has been solved.

Kind Regards
