after i tried to pull file out of backup i can no longer get into drive c it says access denied i was wondering how to get in to drivec help would be helpful thanks

Here is what I would do, not neccesarily good advice, but....

If you have XP Home - i would wipe and reinstall the OS.

If you have XP Pro (and admin rights) - then I would rebuild the file permissions.

My Computer > Right click select properties > Security Tab > ADD > Type your user name and press OK > Select "Full controll" and apply. > Select Advanced, and check the option "Replace permission entries on ...." and apply (maybe yes) > OK > OK.

I would also suggest you use the following template for all your future support requests;

MY OS > ......
The software / hardware item I have a problem with > ........................
The problem > ................................

when i click properties i have no security tab i started in safe mode i do but cant change settings
