I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 and am obviously running Windows XP.

Windows XP will not start up on my computer. The computer starts running and then stops and gives me an error saying that if it keeps happening, to check for viruses. It also says

"Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xBA4CB528, 0X0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)."

I have tried booting it up in safe mode and other modes, but it stops and gives me the same error no matter what I do. I have also tried repairing windows using two different disks, and that will not work either.

Did you try "Last Known Good configuration" from the menu, by pressing F8 at the first Windows Splash Screen?

Have you replaced any hardware?

Did the Knowledge Base article help?

What problems did you have with the repair?

Try using the recovery console to run Chkdsk;

Use the Windows Setup CD-ROM to start your computer. At the "Welcome to Setup" screen, press F10 or press 'R" to repair.

Once in the console, type

chkdsk /r

I added a scanner and driver to my computer. It worked fine until I restarted it, then it just would not start Windows.

The knowledge base has not helped.

The repair works until it has to restart. Once that starts, it will not boot up Windows.
