just curious if anyone knows of a free online tutorial that could help me better learn adminisration tasks/commands on the Windows 2000 platform.

I can give you some tips:
Get familiar with setting up groups (administrators, users, backup operators, etc.) and their permissions. Also remember that all the admin stuff is not in the admin folder. poledit.msc (search for it) can allow you to tweak many other things, like preventing people from changing iexplorer settings and such.
