Someone at my place of employment changed same of the start up services on their pc, so i had to reinstall xp. I have to add them to the domain, but the internet, shouldn't I just be able to plug in the network cable and get internet access event though they are not on the domain yet or do I have to do the establish internet connection?

That depends on your router and network setup. Some routers now filter traffic based on the logged in user id in Active Directory, but this is not too common. This is a hard question to answer without knowing your network setup.
