Hi

Is it possible to upgrade the firmware on a hub? and if it is, are there any linux upgrades?

i don't think they make managed hubs.. does the hub have a com port to where you could connect via hyperterminal and configure an ip?

yes it does. its a compaq 10baseT Hub 1112

so yea.... try that. I'm not sure how common hyperterminal commands are but I'll give you the commands for our switches here and you can try them if you want.... you know how to setup hyperterminal? does it have anywhere telling you what settings to use?
Most switches are 9600, 8, none, 1, no.

Well you need to get ahold of a com port-com port cable. check the box your hub came in.

that's a serial cable. and i got my hub at a school sale or sometihng like that
