Re: In addition to that, the Google database is so big, it needs distributed computing in order to deliver those lightning fast search results. And there's just so much data it takes lots of time to propagate to all of the google datacenters.
Re: [quote=stymiee;262280]2 months is nothing in Internet time. Be patient and keep promoting your site. Eventually it will pay off.[/quote] I agree. Don't give up. It took a full year before DaniWeb expanded to more than 10 people chatting among themselves.
Re: Hi Scooter. Welcome to DaniWeb! Starting a new website can be a daunting task, and getting traffic to your site isn't easy, as you're finding out. All that I can suggest is to begin by reading up on the threads in this forum, and get an idea for the techniques …
Re: I don't know anything about that particular company, but generally traffic wholesalers give very bad quality traffic which doesn't convert well. If it did, it wouldn't be so cheap, and they'd put pay per click programs out of business.
As you guys know, there is a code snippet highlighter that works both in the forums using the [noparse][code=language][/code][/noparse] tags as well as in our Code Snippet library. Due to changes that have been made to the highlighter, it is now required for highlighting functionality that the code be wrapped …
![]() | Re: From what I know, it's never been proven that Google's sandbox definitely exists. If it does, though, the sandbox is only applicable to new domains. You're most likely being deindexed for another reason - duplicate pages, decrease in the accumulation of backlinks, decreased pagerank, etc. |
Re: Internet Explorer 7 is actually out of beta. If your computer restarted midway through an install, I would go into Add/Remove programs and do a Repair on the installation of IE7.

Re: I actually already spoke to him via Instant Messenger. Unfortunately, I don't release any of the code that powers the backend of DaniWeb because, as you can imagine, thousands of dollars and even more thousands of hours of time went into developing it just so that we can be completely …
Well, we now have little green hyperlinks! :) I'd like to introduce everyone to a new [bbcode] that automatically integrates with our blogs. For example, suppose I am talking about [tag]google[/tag]. By using our new [tag] bbcode, I can automatically send you to the latest headlines about Google ... aka …
Re: I would start by downloading phpMyAdmin, if you're not already using it. It's a great php-based web application that lets you interact with a MySQL database. It may be possible to import a database from a text file using phpMyAdmin ... I'm not entirely sure. Since it's definitely possible to …
Re: I don't know what an SNC test even is, but you really should ask in the appropriate forum to receive a reply. This is just the forum to welcome new members.

HELP! I was using Mozilla 1.0.1 on my RedHat 8 system. However, I just upgraded to Mozilla 1.2 Unfortunately, what I didn't count on was that it seems that the flash plug-in for Mozilla doesn't support this version? Please help! Thanx
Re: I think it's because of the AJAX call when you used the quick reply box. Can you reproduce the error upon refreshing the page?
Re: Hi. Firstly, I need to commend you on your very active membership - it looks as if the average visitor visits 10+ pageviews at a time, so congratulations on making your site very "sticky". That's something I need more work on, myself. Unfortunately, a sticky site does come with a …

I know it's against the TOS to disclose AdSense statistics, but I just want to comment I've noticed enormous drops in eCPM rates over this past month. Just wondering if this is across the board? Or is it just me? CTRs are appearing consistant.
Re: Actually, you can now use [code=c] :) Tags added for him.
Re: The camera is designed to fit over a laptop screen. I suspect that without a thin laptop screen, it might not be free standing.
Re: There is a built in feature to Copy Threads, which duplicates them across forums. I suspect that it shouldn't be very hard to use create a plugin which calls the existing copy thread function when certain conditions are met, within the post thread hook. Unfortunately I don't have the time …
Re: I just stumbled across this thread when I saw a link to it from the homepage. Can someone explain to me how FC5 == linux? Am I just missing something?
Re: [quote=Ancient Dragon;263880]that link crashed my computer. I had to turn the computer off,[/quote] The link worked fine for me.
Re: I'm very confused. Are you using something like Blogger? The code is the start of an unordered listing of items (be them links, etc) with the unique name 'monthly' to describe and attach a CSS style to the collection.
Re: This has been asked in the past. Unfortunately, while I would like to, I am still not proficient in the code which powers the Quick Reply box, and will need to study up on it more. I'm finding the code very messy.
Re: That IS the idea behind giving reputation within a post. I think what you're suggesting is to make reputation comments public.

Re: I don't remember their names offhand, but there are a good number of forum hosting companies out there already, and sites that give you free forums on their domains. Most are PHP though (ie phpBB forums).
Re: Hi there, welcome to DaniWeb. Just a note ... there is no need to manually hit [Enter] after each line you type. It will automatically word wrap :) |
