I would say LinkedIN. I can connect with business people easier. Facebook is more for personal contacts than for business.

Excellent content that people would want to link to. Post in forums, comment on blogs, to get people to visit your site. Do this often and you'll see some good results.

I find it useful to connect with my friends and sometimes promote projects. I don't rely on it too much, though, I'd rather build relationships outside it.

Can't really add anything more than Dani did. You need to come up with a 'unique selling point', otherwise it's gonna be pretty difficult to get your network off the ground. Other than that .. promote heavily, make sure it's active, so that new people join the 'fun' etc.

I'd say manual submissions are the best idea. It does take a long time, but you can do it carefully and making sure you're not sending too many links at once. You can outsource this for someone who's usually doing it for a living, but you need to be careful …

I don't see any changes for my sites. It's pretty weird to have DaniWeb in such dire 'relationship' with good ole G', I'd expect the SE traffic to be really good for you, based on the quality of the content here and the activity. Oh, well ...

Quality content, updated constantly and promoting it in the same niche blogs/forums. Maybe it's time to do less SEO 'tricks' and get back to the basics: providing and promoting the content our readers need and appreciate.

I don't quite get it, but here is what I understand :) If you want them to not see the regular menu, you can have a new header file that doesn't show the menu. If you want them to not hit the backspace button, there can be a javascript code …

You can find people in various freelancing sites (Elance, Odesk, Freelancer, Guru etc.). At the same time you can take a look at your back links and see which are not of a good quality and might have been the reason of your problems. Disavow them and see if your …

Know your niche well and promote in similar sites. Provide good quality content or resources, have a site that looks professional and trustworthy. Use the social media outlets sensibly, don't spam and provide good useful answers. Post in forums, comment on blogs. The main thing is to be professional, nice …

I never liked these sites too much. I'd rather spend time creating designs or posting in forums/blogs.

Wordpress is better in my books. Truth be told I have last used Joomla many years ago, but, when I started using Wordpress (in 2006) I was really impressed with it. It's good for SEO, easy to tweak and incredibly versatile.
