One of the curiosities of life that intrigued Mr. Einstein, which he was not able to solve, was just why couldn't people be in two places at once. So, my nickname is a bit of a play on that perplexing duality, in that here is an eminently renowned scientist and yet when one is referred to as "eh, einstein!" its typically meant in a derogatory manner. It's also pretty sweet that the "a" in my "aeinstein" can also denote his first initial. Next to The Lord, my dearly beloved Pops and my twin Bro, I hold Mr. Einstein in the highest of regards.

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Haven't touched Samba, but here's a support link that may be helpful http://us1.samba.org/samba/support/

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Thanks for the info inscissor - that can be an awesome marketing combination if handled properly.

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

This may be an attempt at CUD by (my take on Fear/Uncertainty/Doubt, being Confusion) Microsoft, but ironically here's another link - http://www.zolknetwork.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3270 - from the same site aeinstein linked to. It seems as interesting as the screenshots appear, they may be somewhat premature - although I think they're still interesting captures.

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Hmmmm, actually seems pretty interesting - and I"m NOT a fan of Microsoft. will still wait to see what security/privacy breaches are *implemented* in the 1st realease to shake out tho! http://www.zolknetwork.com/windows_longhorn.php

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

only vaguely recall hearing about longhorn... i'm guessing since Win9x/ME are 4.x versions, speculating that Win2K/XP are 5.x versions then i'd have to surmise that longhorn has some significant fundemental differences w/Win2K kernel based OSs. 1st thing that comes 2mind is 64bit? looks i'll have to do some urlsurfin 2morrow - unless u wanna spill some dirt (hint, hint!) :)

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Link? :?

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

That's what I'm curious about - how do you understand?

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Hi Alice, what's up?

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

So for I'm sure that I'm not thrilled with Alice - tho I might swithc to her avatar - she's cute! ;)

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

printable version sounds good & i agree w/Kaynine - maybe use the light & dark gray shades of the site for the upper & lower (or, lower & upper!) case lettering on the banner? Otherwise its growing on me a lot more each time i can get in here to lurk/post.

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Fonts ok, could be changed, could stay the same. Like this banner a lot better, except the capitals need to be a different color than the banner to make them stand out - jmho.

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Jimmy you have no idea of just how hard I want to smack you right now. 7-11? Yes, that's ok for now - I took a "survival job" at Checkers (burger joint) a coupla years back so I know what you are going though - but you can do so, so much better. Carve the time out of your schedule otherwise this is going to continue to hinder you throughthout your career.

Regards,
Paul

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

I'm very sorry to hear about your situation Jimmy. Tell you what, I'm a pretty busy fellow, but if you're willing to put the time into, I will make time to help you. Here's a start - http://www.englishjet.com/english_courses_files/games_online.asp.

Either post or send me any email if you want to do this.

Best Regards,
Paul

Congratulations MAD_DOG! Sounds like you found yourself a great position, and I wish you only the best. If there's anything I can ever help you with - except for $$$$ ( :D ) - let me know! I honestly feel that you are far from being dumb, but, as you know, you probably can use some brushing up on communications skills. This is something that I urge you to do as soon as possible - it will help you to earn a better living every bit as much as picking up an additional computer related skill, even more so. You have friends on this board that want to see you succeed. Good Luck & Merry Christmas!

Regards,
Paul

maybe u can script a search by poster, capture urls, & automatically place em in a links area and/or personal bookmarks list driven by profile preferences (aux post urls to global links area by board topic set default to yes and aux post urls to personal bookmarks list set default to no, selectable by updating profile?)? fft

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

To paraphrase Richard Boone - Have fun, will travel... but tumbleweeds make strange bedfellows!

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Thanks for fixing the link, and your right: simple!

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Your posted link is broken.

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

basically check the website of the product vendor ur interested in gettin cert'd in, theyll tell u. very pop testing co wud be www.prometric.com Good Preparations :!:

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Dreamweaver cert?! HMMMMM!!! i LIKE that prog! will DEFINITELY look into that... thanks 4 the 411 8)

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Thanks all! Good luck inscissor! I think getting that 5 cert wouldnt hurt you - it'll add to ur resume & it'll prep u for the MX cert . granted, there'll be alot of different stuff on it, but there's also going to be alot of the same stuff on the new cert as they've got to give at least the illusion of backward compatiblity. Thats why I took the R4 cert knowing its going to be retired in a couple of days: resume fodder and i know at least 60% of it will be applicable to R5. after all, they'ver upgraded their software, not reinvented the wheel!!! ;D Either way bro, thanks again & good luck w/Cold Fusion/Java/whereever your ITcentric heart takes ya! LOL! :)

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Congrats aeinstein, nice work! ;) Java2 is on my list as well - wishing us all some good luck! :D

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

I just passed my Lotus Notes R4 Sys Admin 1 test with a score of 85% (required score: 64%). Having never touched a LN network, live or test, in an admin capacity and teaching myself only on my stand alone Win98 PC (YES, WINDOWS '98 >:( ) I don't think I did too shabbily! 8) Of course that Specialist cert, the one I got for R4 Developer 1 last year & 50cents won't buy me a cup of coffee, since the R4 certs are being retired on Monday (09/30/02), but at least it starts me back on the LN road. next up: full PCLP (Principal Certified Lotus Professional) certs for R5 - 0 down & only 8 to go for both sides of the fence; wish me luck! ;D

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

First, thank you for your post inscissor, and please accept my apologies for such a belated reply.

Second, let me state my knowledge on this subject: zilch, nada, nothing and pretty much zero - but I am quite interested.

Thrid, why would it matter in justifying which technology used to accomplish the task? In this day and age it seems that speed reigns supreme above all else, so why use ASP over JSP?

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

What would be an alternate to ODBC?

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

I wasn't trying to flame estphill, just emphasis the need for proper clarifications. Apologies for any offense taken, as none were intended.

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

whoa, down fido! :o Ok, youve got a valid point kaynine, so listen-up estphil, but where here to help, not incinerate! keep the questions coming all! 8)

aeinstein 79 Team Member - aka kaynine Team Colleague

Ok, so why didn't you say all that to begin with? Both myself and TechTalkGirl asked you for more information - this was the kind of information need in order to try to help troubleshoot a problem. Next time when someone ask for more info please try to be more specific.
