Hi, I am in a lot of social networks and they all seem to use the same script just tweaked a bit. You can add your contacts from your emails straight from the site, and you can "connect" with friends. I have looked at these sites multiple times and it looks like a script that has been tweaked not like someone re inventing the wheel. I am working on a Social Network myself and I would like to know if there is a script out there I could buy and tweak so people can connect or if I have to re-invent the wheel.

I would download AVG and run it also you can run silent runners and hijack this if you want to know whats going on in the background. Okay how do you play Geek Auction? it's Pretty simple. You put how long you've been working in the field your in, how long you have worked with computers, anything that would promote yourself. Then others say how much they think your worth by DWJ points (Dani Web Joke Points) if someone says 1 point well your not worth anything your basically a n00b. the points go from 1-100,000 DWJ points. So here is an example ( I know linux, python, ruby on rails, and qbasic. The language I am the best at is Qbasic I am just learning the others but I may be good at them someday.) I have an idea for a Website and I have noticed all these "social networks" seem to run on the same scripts or software. I was hoping someone could tell me if my conclusion is correct and if so what script do they use?

However, I'd consider any unsollicited email like that to be highly suspicious.
Make sure it's not fake addresses.

Many spammers make messages look like they're from legitimate businesses but the actual site and response are not real.

I have done backtracing read all the view source it's a real email from lunarpages. I left a message in hope of a reply.

I don't have the solution to your question but I know it would help others if you provided a little more information like if the SMS messages are going to be sent out once a day at a certain time, or if you need to let all your techs know something at once via SMS? I know that you can send SMS Messages from your computer via MSN Messenger, AOL, I think you can even do it on Skype.

You can NOT make a page exactly fit the screen on all computers.

Well I finally decided to go through all my old Web Designer issues to prove that IT IS possible to fit all computer screens! It was proven that you can make a Website appear the same by using CSS tags to call three different tag names and then use them in divs. I will post a snippet of it tomorrow after I'm back gambling with my friends.

I know, I thought it was real weird also. I came home about 6 hours later and the site works perfectly. I was curious if you guys were fiddling with the code at all? Maybe someone had their settings for instant upload and they made a mistake and then fixed it. I just am glad the site is back to it's normal fun geek self!

Stick to your goals! I know that you can learn CSS and php at www.w3schools.com Flash you can learn at lynda.com but they charge about 25.00 a month if I remember right because they teach almost everything that has to do with a computer!

I am sorry I did not describe the problem better. I am now using FireFox and it works great but this is what was happening.

I would go to DaniWeb Via Firefox and the home page was askew. The text was going across the screen and was much larger then it is suppose to be. I tried using Dani's cool new navigation system with the drop down list but no drop down list appeared. I tried it in Opera and the same problems occured. I tried it in chrome and it looked a lot better but the navigation still did not work. I finally went to Internet Explorer 7 and it worked perfectly.

I love DaniWeb and I don't care for IE that much. I went onto the site and it didn't work properly in firefox,chrome, or opera. It worked better in chrome then it did in FireFox and Opera so I am not sure if your trying to make it Chrome compliant.

I just want you guys to be aware of this problem and hopefully you can take the necessary actions to correct it.

then go back and fix the errors.

Hey AJ, Welcome to the world of coding. I am not sure if you made your own dwt template or if you are using a premade template by DreamWeaver. I would validate your templates that works fine at http://validator.w3.org/ and then validate the one that has a problem and if it shows an error then you should be able to fix it. I am not sure how much xhtml you know so go to www.w3schools.com they will help for sure!

Hi, Are you writing your Website in HTML or XHTML? </br> is not a recognized tag in either language I think you meant to put

<br />

that will fix one of your problems. One problem with only using IE is that IE is to leniant on coding it allows a lot of errors so I use at least 2 to 4 different browsers to check my sites in to make sure it is compliant.

DreamWeaver is a good WYSWIG Program. I use it all the time but I like to go through and fix all of it's errors.

I have viewed My Websites in 4 different browsers and I have never seen a problem going against that code error. I will check yours for you if you would like :) I wanted to add that I think they are trying to get people to use css for the backgrounds in tables instead of relying on the HTML code.

I am using tabs3 as a gallery to show some projects. It works fine in FF and Safari but I am experiencing a weird positioning problem in IE6 (what a surprise ah?). Some content doesn´t position correctly. Every div to hold the "tabs-panel" is exact to the others so they all should be right or wrong I guess.

Welcome to DaniWeb and I love the Website you have but I also think I know why it does not work in IE6 but this is just a wild guess. IE6 is one of the most pickiest browsers so it may not like the _ in the div section like your texto_fullwidth div if you remove the _ it may work.

I messed up on a blog and I wanted to edit it so I clicked the edit blog feature and I had fixed it up very nicely and when I finished it said that I may not have the privileges to do that or I may not be the user I am.

When you say Body Image do you mean the background that would be

What this does is tells the CSS to make everything in tag body to be a certain image. I would reccomend www.w3schools.com they are a very good source for learning languages. If you are trying to do your Webpage purely WYSWIG ( What you see is what you get) Then you may have some problems. If you are trying to get a table to the top there are quite a few ways to do that it is essential to know when and where to have your mouse when you enter a table in dreamweaver because that changes the placement totally. I also want to point out that you can just fill in the bottom table with info, images what ever your going to do and that will push the other table upwards or you can do what I consider unethical coding and hold down the shift and enter key which creates

I do not reccomend that it can cause a lot of trouble in the future.
