E,

I think you're falling into a trap here. What trap? Trying to make an image database of all models of all time. Folk I know that needed such collected and found the images as they needed them.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

First, what you have above is incomplete yet it is, at the assembly level an if else construct.

Now if you wanted to you could add another jump after line 4 to mimic an if statement in another way. Only one of the two jumps would execute but this is just for the instance where it fits to do so.

So line 3 is essentially the IF statement.
Line 4 is the ELSE.
Line 5 is what happens IF line 3 was true.
But I don't see the line label for ELSE so the code is incomplete.

Remember I only see this little section of your code so I may be missing the big picture but hey, worked with assembler on over a dozen architectures over the decades and more. Maybe you have a different question but I'll try to work with what you give so far.

That out of the way, what is stopping you from completing this work?

From your last post it appears that client and maybe the developer is chafed by copyright and trademark laws. In my reply above about going down the rabbit hole I attempted to gently break it to all that we can't go get images from where ever and not have a worry about possible actions by the copy/trademark holders.

In extreme cases like https://www.motorious.com/articles/news/s550-eleanor-seized/ you find the car's image and name is so tied up in legal wrangling that you won't go near that image or name.

I bet folk new to this will be floored.

It appears you have to work hard to install VS2005. There are many other pages about this you can find with a search but try:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45361556/installing-visual-studio-2005-on-windows-10

As to debug, it looks deeper than I'll write here but do read https://weblogs.asp.net/dixin/debugging-classic-asp-with-visual-studio

This could be a very long discussion but it's your EULA so write it as best you can, have it reviewed by other team members and see what they think.

Let me share a story about work I did for a company. They wanted to own my code but they didn't employ me or pay in advance so my choice was to keep ownership of both code and algorithms but give them a license to use. To add some humor to the agreement I added the license was valid for the planet known as Earth. They ran it past their legal department and we worked together for decades.

I can't find exactly what you are asking. However encryption is a huge topic so where to start? Are you asking if your method is uncrackable or something else?

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Tried it, no video ad shows for me. I'm using Opera with the usual defaults.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

I found no simple way to do this. So let's bodge a solution together with two steps.

  1. Let's get access to PowerShell from Python with:
    https://www.phillipsj.net/posts/executing-powershell-from-python/

  2. Now we can use the unmute from https://stackoverflow.com/questions/21355891/change-audio-level-from-powershell

https://github.com/xxczaki/awesome-calculators is an example where you see a curated list of such things.
https://search.muz.li/inspiration/calculator-design/ really blows the mind as you see OTHER calculators for such things as Love, area and more.

Please clarify what the question is. Your topic asks one thing but then you go in another direction in your post.

I'm reading https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/how-to-save-connection-result-in-a-variable-in-node-js/ which appears to answer the topic title's question.

If my query is empty I usually check my query at the MySQL command prompt.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

I see a nice prior question with ideas at https://www.quora.com/Can-I-pass-a-value-from-one-HTML-or-JavaScript-page-to-another-HTML-or-JavaScript-page-without-passing-it-in-URL

I can't guess how you wish to solve this but there's many ways.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Nod to https://www.quora.com/Which-one-is-better-SDL-or-SFML and other discussions finds SFML is not a game engine.

But it may be good enough for what you need. If your goal is to become a game developer, look at the games you think you wanted to have been on the team then see what engines they used.

Closer to home, my son is currently doing work using the Unity Engine.

I see nothing wrong with learncpp and other such sites. But eventually you'll want some time at school, acquiring that degree.

Frankly and I might upset some here, the days of MP3 sites looks to have passed. Fewer and fewer I know collect MP3s, organize them and load them into their players.

What I see is a lot of Spotify and similar app users. And thus my suggestion.

-> Consider apps for mobile use that let us pick a genre, artist or other filters then play that without tasking us to download, organize, make playlists, etc.

It's been a few days without a reply. You may want to ask a question and explain what the issue is here.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Let me share how I work such an issue. I open out a command line to MySQL and test my queries against the non-production table to see if my query is valid.

Back to PHP, I echo or dump vars along the way to see what is going on. Read https://www.php.net/manual/en/debugger.php

If it fails in MySQL I check it's error log. Read https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/error-log.html

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Just tested it and works fine on Opera.

Depending on my MySQL hosting I'd look at either MySQL's own events or a cron job.
Quick primer at https://webdioxide.com/2018-11-14-sql-events-procedures-and-cron-jobs/

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

From the web "Unfortunately, MySQL does not have PIVOT function". I'd consider prior answers found with https://www.google.com/search?&q=pivot+data+from+mysql

https://codingsight.com/pivot-tables-in-mysql/ shows a few solutions but the easy path appears to be dbForge Studio for MySQL which you can get a 30 free trial. Why I'd go with dbForge is simple. Read http://www.artfulsoftware.com/infotree/qrytip.php?id=78 and you see your workload goes up pretty quickly.

This seems to work too hard. That is, why not sort the array (Java has a sort()) then display the last and next to last array element?

This can vary with country and which SMS service you use. But hey, let's start with https://www.twilio.com/docs/sms/tutorials/how-to-send-sms-messages-java

On top of that we see some shilling going on. Dani once wrote that this is OK since it's "Fake it till you make it." That's typical for companies and people like Theranos. We see where they usually land. Also:

I'd start at https://www.twitch.tv/creatorcamp/en/get-rewarded/running-ads/

After that, your acumen at streaming comes into play. There are forums all about streaming setups (PIP, etc.)

While my view is this is all spam, why not leave it there and see what Dani does? For now I'm stepping back to deal with a rental property and see where Dani is going next with Premium and spam.

What many of us call spam, Dani seems to think "this is good for SEO" therefore the message to me is this is a spam friendly place.

That library seems to be from some book by John Zelle and used in some courses.
Also this appears to be at https://stackoverflow.com/questions/69096268/how-to-create-a-paint-program-in-graphics-py

There's a set of YouTube Tutorials about this library at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R39vTAj1u_8

HOWEVER I see it's just a wrapper for Tkinter and many write this is not something you should use beyond an intro to compsci.

Since graphics.py uses tkinter.py then exclusivity is not possible.

I tried to drag and drop a tab but that failed. What worked and you should try it to see if it was close enough was to open that second browser, switch to the browser that you want to open in the other browser, click just to the left of the address bar and drag that to the open browser (do not drop yet) then as the target browser gets focus, drop this into the address bar on the target browser.

-> Now you have have wanted something else such as how to copy bookmarks but that was not the question

You may have left out details such as you have a new PC and it came with the new Office which is "Live" and you want to run Office 2003 instead. To do that you remove the Office the PC came with and install your copy. This is not automatic and sometimes I have to run Revo (google that if you haven't heard of it.)

To write to the console in asp.net that should be https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/system.console.write?view=net-5.0

As to what else you wrote, I don't see any questions there. It looks like some sort of homework dump.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

This seems oddly specific. That is, those names would tell me you are working with some legacy system or homework.

But as you may know there are fewer and fewer active VB6 developers every year. If you have a legacy system you want to either learn as much as you can about this very old system or look to outsource the work through Upwork or such.

It's only been a few years but our office ended support and fixes for apps we created back in the 1990s that were in VB6. It mainly was for the reason that development has become much more expensive and clients were not wanting to sign the disclaimers about security and pay for the higher rates. I'm sure there are many on Upwork that will accept your legacy system work.

-> However if you can pare your question down to something small I'll see what I can answer to that.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Line 1 produced an error for me. Maybe you need to tell me more why you declared this in this way.

Given the dictionary contains what words can be formed, I see where we need the isAnagram() from
https://www.javatpoint.com/java-program-to-check-whether-two-strings-are-anagram-or-not

With that out of the way you proceed to write the rest of the code similar to this:

  1. Input the word.
  2. Open the dictionary.
  3. Loop
  4. Read a word from the dictionary.
  5. Test if the word and the dictionary word are an anagram.
  6. end loop if the end of the dictionary is reached.

I am not deeply conversant with this area. Anyhow, I think the merge is one line of code. Psuedo code only so you can rewrite to match your needs.

I think I'd do the merge first before working on the duplicates.

One line? Try:

df1.append(df2)

Try that and see what happens. To clean up duplicates consider:

df1.drop_duplicates(subset=['custname'], keep='last')

Remember that this is just my untested thoughts here and you can tailor as you see fit.

PS. I see there is a merge feature but it's an area I have yet to explore. Try finding tutorials on this area.

  1. National Drug Code.
  2. National Debt Case.
  3. Nationally Determined Contributions.

There are more so my advice is to define acronyms when you use them so we don't have to guess.

Now a quick look sees this might be the old Tower of Hanoi game. Let's find that too at https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/c-program-for-tower-of-hanoi/
