Use Spybot SD to clean any malware!!!
IT's a great tool I use for my clients....
In my opinion Avast is great for home users as long as you are updated.

go into folder options and uncheck the following:
'hide extentions for known file types'
'hide protected operating system files'
and check the following:
'show hidden files and folders'
do this in safe mode and see if you can manually delete the virus file
also make sure you put down thermal lubricant between the cpu and fan
I think you meant to say cpu and heat sink
I am a true believer in the man above.world will end when that man makes physical appearance.period.
start computer press del or f1(depending on your system)it will take you to a blue screen there should be a option for something temperature.it will indicate you how its performing.
!! its highly important to see if you have enough cooling in your system(see my previous post)
the two cd drives has nothing to do with cpu overheating.ohk then check your internal fans of your system make sure that your cpu fan is properly seated on heatsink. also your BIOS should give you an idea of computer(cpu) temp.
if you know for sure that is the case and there is enough cooling on your CPU and system and downclocking is the only thing you can do (if you can)what makes you say thats the case my man
youre problem is hardware related for sure. id check my cpu and RAM for testing
I m thinking its more of a heating issues that is making the system unstable, have u cleaned the fans of any dust deposited on the ends that could be the main cause as even running the test it starts to freeze which means something else triggers it. Also be worthwhile to check for the thermal paste on the CPU as well depending on the age of your system.
Good luck

post nr5 is states the same mr raj...
did you get anything good out of your machine goomnaga?
...so ill suggest you get a 'cheapie' of a graphics card install it and see how it behaves
dont buy one just find one for troubleshooting
before you open or unplug anything look @ the back of your computer box and see where your monitor cable plugs in(the one with the pins-thats your signal cable)now that you've seen where it plugs in open your box and see from the inside if the connector (where the cable is connected to )if its actually soldered to your motherboard or is it on a seperate card
ditso I need for you to open your box and see if you have an integrated graphics card or an graphics card thats in a slot.will you be able to do that??
ohk this can take a while but well get it done.not your fault.for starters install your standard graphics drivers the ones you got with your computer
ohk so when trying another hard drive in your system what you saying it did detect it but it didnt recognise a OS on the drive...right? heres what you do if my previous post didnt do much help....
with the new(other hard drive)in the system {make sure that the hard drive is a good one} format that hard drive and install a brand new copy of the Operating System.
should work.see how it behaves after that and post me a reply
??
ohk...interesting.tell me can you remember the last activity before it all started to begin.
also do you use onboard graphics? what is the graphics specs
hey
If you did a Clean install(normal format-delete all partitions created new, etc) and with that said to your previous post than id say youre problem is more technical.how well is your fans behaving(processor fan especially) monitor it to see if its giving enough cooling to your internal parts. monitor the fans with the new OS installed see how it behaves
??
Hi there
Once you've cleaned your system inside check your fan's especially the one sitting on your cpu if its working properly.after doing the above do this:
with your tower case open(to monitor your fan continueselly to see if it bails on the.
system-cpu fan esp)start up your windows.
when logged in,immediately go to task manager end keep the window open to monitor processor activity.now, while monitoring cpu fan and processor performance you will be able to track if the problem lies with cpu,to rule it out as a possibility. before computer freezes see if the processor's performance went ski-rocketting and if fans stopped.
also post full system specs on next post
???
hey there
so did you farmat your pc but are still receiving the freezes?
You can go to the following location and manually delete the file in the following location C:\Documents and Settings\Mark C\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\59WQ5G7I\dreamy_setup[1].exe
what i usually do is delete all temporary files cos some viruses tend to make them selfs @home in the location.
See how it behaves after that
??
hey
ram can sumtimes be very tricky so check that your new ram has the folowing
RAM type-DDR2 PC4200
also you only have 2 slots cos otherwise check weather you have dual channel.
????
please do that mr coolio
my friend I really want to help you here, and i wont find rest until I know for sure your mobo is bugged.
....you say you can now go into safe mode again...is it running smooth without problems when in safe mode?
mind me asking why didnt you install the OS while the hard drive was on the current motherboard.
My friend its realy difficult to determine where the problem lies if you switch out parts.I was thought you would install the OS while in its old board for detecting drivers of hardware etc.that would have been wise
ok, here is the update. I formatted the hardrive and replace the motherboard. Same results, this thing will shut down during boot up. Now I can atleast get back into safe mode. I am about ready to give up.
What do youve replaced the motherboard?did you do a clean windows install on the old (problem mobo).cos thats what I recommended
sittas87:
When I switched drives in these computers it was the only drive that it could boot off of. The suspected bad hardrive booted up perfectly in the known good computer, and the known good hardrive would not boot in the bad computer. Hope I haven't confused you, I'm already getting confused writing it. LOL
Ohk im with you,all right looks to me like your computer wants to desert you,and now you cant even get into safe mode...lets try the alternative please...lets format(not a fan but lets do it). remember if a format doesn't work then you can almost be certain that its your mobo cos all will then be default
PS i know you pretty much doubt a format, but what else do you have to loose...and theres limited options
Also, backup your data first buddy and post reply after format.
I am facing the same problem in my notebook & when I took it to service center they said the same thing.
believe me I immediately told myself that I had a bugged mobo when I faced the problem but that comp(with its old mobo) is still running good.It just shows you with computers the prob aint always the same darn thing-always find it funny
Have u ever used ur laptop while keeping on bed, because of this heat doesnt come out properly...
well wotever u r telling there might be some problem in motherboard.
the possibility of a bugged mobo is there but what im trying to do is rule it out by strongly advicing what ive mentioned in my post.
I have delt with the problem before and luckily for my company it was the OS.
The hardrive will operate in another computer. Fires right up. Therefor I do not think a clean install will help me.
your hard drive that was put in another machine wasn't made the master(boot up drive), or was it-dont think so.if thats the case then it wasn't using your hard drives OS.Ill recommend that you try what I said.
Cheerz
Sittas
I believe is has a cause with malware...
if it happened before than I would rule out malware for now
OK, I have been working with this unit all day. I have switched power supply, memory, every board in the pci slots, and hardrive. The only thing I think it can be now is either the processor or the mother board.
Try the following in its order:1.system restore
2.chkdsk by using recovery console
3.windows repair
4.if all else fails try a clean install coz after all you are looking in the direction of new motherboard or CPU=clean install (I dont believe in format but sometimes thats the only way)
REASON:some of your windows files might be corrupt
???????????
According to what you said it never happened before,it was only after the power failure right?
please mark it as solved
Ill just rephrase what you said(no disrespect)
-you say all configurations is in tact within IE- connection options
-you ping and get successfull packets sent and receive
-Configurations on network settings itself(TCP/IP) is accordingly
what you can also check:
-on the server side check if his account to access internet isnt locked out. no more permission
-set all IE options to default firewalls etc in IE options
restart after changes
Did your Antivirus / Antispyware software alert you it removed a virus / spyware before this started happening? I am guessing it removed the virus / spyware but didn't remove the reference to it on startup. Use a program that shows you all the programs starting up at bootup to disable this startup. For example: Click Start->Run type MSCONFIG, click OK, click on the Startup tab and find the line the references rundll and hwasgsne.dll. Uncheck this line and click OK.
Thats another good posibility.
take note of the space in the command youre typing: sfc /scannow
Hi
Start windows, open command prompt. With your OS system disk in the drive-type sfc /scannow.Let the process run trough.Restart when done and if you got a winner
Cheers
