i dont know what is wrong with it. i have tryed it on both linux and windows versions of opera and i cant seem to logon everother site and forum i need to log onto works great thought maybe someone here would know whats goin on. i am on mozilla right now but i kind of like opera better so i figured i would see if anyone knew what could be up with it.

ok someday i would like to host some webpages. and start a company but i was jst curious right now how do you keep tract of the data transfer. this has jst been one of those things that is bothering me. :)

personally i think you should try it :twisted: but thats the way i am i guess. if all else fails reformat and reinstall the version of windows you do own. jst make sure to back everything up of course. ;)
i also think that an OS is the one software, you should paying for.

they have that same property for vb6 also, for those of us using vb6 still :(

one more thing has anyone heard much about Paragon Partition Manager like is it any good and is it as good as partition magic cause i refuse to fork out 70 bucks for a software im only goin to use like once or twice. and paragon is only 40 but still out of my price range. but if its as good i mite think about it.

its jst that i seem to like redhat better then mandrake. but the mandrake i tryed was an older version. and i dont want to do the download again it takes so long even on cable. but if it comes down to it that mite be the next best option.

which partition program do you recommend. and where could i get it. prefferably free. thank you

can i partition the drive and it wont disturb my windows installation. if not i mite jst say heck with it since im finding everyone is having problems installing linux on this laptop

ok i know that was a long subject but has anyone heard of someone dual booting xp and rh9 on a Toshiba satellite 1405-S151 and know what kind of problems they have come up with. andhow do i go about partitioning my drive to put redhat on it. can some one help or point my in the right direction. thanks alot.

well actually its a toshiba satellite, and i got the sound to work. all i did was run redhats up2date program and updated the kernal and now it works. i was pretty pumbed. :D

Well i got it to dual boot jst fine the only problem is that the sound card wont work. the network works great. so if you could help me find out whats wrong with the sound card drivers and where to find some. one more how do i get linux to see my data drive its a fat32 format i thought i heard that redhat 9 could see and used fat32 if this is wrong let me know also thanks for the help.

i dont know its hard to say i went with super strength but it was a hard decision to make. super speed looks pretty good, and so does metamorphisis.

Linux is free so you dont have to worry about paying, the only thing is if you dont pay for it then you dont get the support but thats what the forum is for.

yeah i jst found out that i will never need to buy another book but i konw i will jst cause thats the way i am. but the company i work for has like 100 books online its pretty cool i havent tryed to access them from home but i will have to try it one of these days

hey, i was wondering if anyone could tell me how or set me in the right direction in setting up a good web server on Redhat 9. make it as simple as possible cause i am pretty new to linux. i know the basic commands and that is about it.

what kind of stuff do you want to be doing when you start programming. Perl probably a pretty good language to learn cause its pretty simple and its syntax is actally alot like c or c++, so it wouldnt be hard to go over to c++ after you have perl down. and i remember hearing from someone that there is alot more syntax to have to remember with one of the c languages and it will take longer to get c down. and perl has less stuff to remember cause its not nearly as powerful. and i agree with deanpence that O'Reilly has some great books they are awsome. well thats my 2 cents on the matter hope it helps
