Have you checked to make sure WORK OFFLINE is not checked in IE??

Click FILE and scroll down and make sure it isnt....

Also is your connection setup to run thru a proxy?? If so,disable it and see what happens

Goto Internet Options/Connections and scroll down to LAN SETTINGS and if the box is checked,uncheck it and then try to connect :)

AOL uses proxy servers to connect to the network and IE tried to direct connect..

I believe you may have to tell IE to connect using AOLs proxies (Im not sure on that though)

The first thing you should of done is A SYSTEM RESTORE to before he messed with things... That probably would have fixed the issue :)

I discovered i have the same issue trying to get the music to play in 3-D Pinball (Its a MIDI file) and when i select MUSIC nothing plays (The control isnt muted,the file plays fine in WMP and used to play thru Pinball with no problems.)

Keep in mind that most popup blockers will only blog new browser windows from opening - they won't stop DHTML advertisements such as fly-ins, etc. that may appear to be popups but really aren't.

Newer versions of MyIE2 (Maxthon) can block those "Fly ins" (hehehe) quite nicely......... (And i think you can do it in MyIE2 also if you know what URL to add to content filter)
