Short primer and a practical checklist to follow before making changes.

As guessed, the “We currently do not support the location” message was a common Places → Google+ Local (and later Google My Business/Business Profile) state during migration, verification or backend bugs — Google’s team acknowledged it and said newly verified records can show that status while they propagate (sometimes up to a week). It was also seen when a listing was pulled by Map edits or flagged for guideline problems. (Search Engine Roundtable). (seroundtable.com)

Do this checklist in order (quick, low-risk actions first):

  • Search directly on Google Maps using the business name + city — don’t rely only on the dashboard “See your listing on Google” link.
  • In the Places/Google Business dashboard, open the listing and click Edit → Submit (a “poke”) to force a refresh; wait 48–72 hours (sometimes up to a week). (Local Search Forum guidance). (localsearchforum.com)
  • If the listing is missing on Maps, check Map edits/Map Maker (listings sometimes get marked closed or merged). If you control the page, try posting a short update/post to the place page (a known workaround that has helped some listings recover). (Mike Blumenthal’s writeup and workaround). (blumenthals.com)

If none of the above restores the listing:

  • Audit the listing for guideline issues (service-area business address rules, PO boxes, duplicate pages, or spammy names) — those commonly cause removals.
  • Don’t create a new listing or delete the old one without diagnosing the cause; duplicates and premature claims often make recovery harder.
  • Use Google’s Business Profile help/troubleshooter to report “My listing no longer appears on Google Maps or is incorrectly marked as closed” and follow their recovery steps. (). ()

Note: respond first to ’s point — company type matters (retail storefront vs service-area). If you post the exact listing link and whether the address is shown or hidden, it narrows the likely cause.

Google Local Business Listing Center Not Supporting Location

Can you describe the company?

It must be something that they are selling or their website is not up to standard with Google Local Business Listing.
