I believe you can still target global clients, even with a .in extension. Keep in mind that lots of popular modern tech apps nowadays have domains with .io extensions, even though .io was initially created as a domain for a British Indian Ocean territory. In fact, tech apps have .io extensions more than sites targeted to the Indian Ocean territory does.

Yes, website extension matters for a global audience because it helps in enhancing the user experience. This is especially important when targeting a global market, as different languages and usability requirements must be considered. Website extensions can also help speed up the building process while delivering better results to your visitors.

You can target global clients with .in extension with the help of new marketing tactics that most companies are following nowadays. Though a .com extension would be more helpful for the SERP. So according to my suggestion, you can keep .in and .com both. Therefore, if anyone searches with the .com extension he/she will be redirected to the old .in website.

Website extension is important for global audience. If you want to reach global audience then you can choose .com extension for your website.

No, it's not like that, but the .com extension is more likely to be more beneficial if you use it.

Well, it matters, but not in the sense that you can't reach a global audience without it. Having.com is advantageous because many people don't know which extension belongs to which country, which can limit your audience, as opposed to.com, which is universally recognized and has a high level of trust attached to it.
