If you are serious about your websites either for personal or your business, don't go to free web hosting as they are usually not reliable and you may end up losing all your hard work.

Register a domain name nowadays is so cheap. I think the hard work searching for free domain name is not worth the i.e $10 per year for a registered domain name with guaranteed function.

I personally use name.com because they offer free private whois protection at no extra cost. Most domain registrars would charge up to $18 for private whois protection. NAME.com FTW!

No one is going to give you a free domain (which they have to pay for) unless they are getting something in return.
